Retail painting

Retail painting in San Diego.

Storefronts, interior refreshes, anti-graffiti coatings, brand-spec color matching, after-hours scheduling.

Retail painting in San Diego runs the range from single-tenant storefronts to multi-tenant shopping center exteriors, from local boutiques to brand-spec national chains. The common thread: the work happens around the customer schedule, the landlord is usually in the conversation, and the exterior facade is what shoppers see first.

What we do for retail clients

Storefront facade and exterior

Storefront stucco, signage backgrounds, awning frames, accent walls, ADA-compliant entrance markings, anti-graffiti coatings on street-facing surfaces. Premium exterior paint with strong UV holdout — San Diego sun fades cheap exterior paint within a year on commercial storefronts.

Interior refreshes

Interior wall repaints, accent walls, fitting room areas, display walls, back-of-house. Scuff-resistant product lines for high-traffic walls (Sherwin-Williams Scuff Tough, Benjamin Moore Scuff-X). Cabinet-grade enamel on built-in display fixtures.

Anti-graffiti coatings

Anti-graffiti coatings are clear or color-matched barrier coatings applied over standard paint on street-facing walls, roll-up doors, and high-traffic exteriors. Graffiti can be washed off rather than painted over. Standard add-on for retail spaces in high-tag areas of San Diego.

Brand-spec color matching

For franchise locations and national brand retail, we paint to brand standards — exact color codes, product line specifications, and finish requirements. We document the spec line-item in your scope and provide paint product documentation for brand or franchisor sign-off.

How we work around retail hours

After-hours and overnight

Most retail painting we do runs between close and the next morning’s open. Typically 9 PM to 5 AM. The store opens with no signs the work was done overnight other than a fresh paint job.

Phased work for larger refreshes

For full interior refreshes that can’t happen in a single night, we phase the work so the store stays partially open. A section gets painted overnight; the rest stays operational the next day. We move to the next section the following night.

Coordination with landlord and management

For leased retail and shopping center storefronts, we coordinate with the landlord on COI requirements, hours of operation, and any visible-exterior approval (signage rules, color restrictions, brand standards). We add the landlord, property management, and tenant operator as additional insured on the COI before any work starts.

Pricing

  • Interior retail (per tenant space).
  • Storefront facade.
  • Anti-graffiti coatings (where included in scope).
  • Shopping center exterior (per-building).

Pricing is determined by an on-site walkthrough and the resulting written proposal.

Common retail painting questions

Yes. Most retail painting we do runs after hours or overnight. Phasing lets us paint a single section at a time so the store can remain partially open. For larger refreshes, we coordinate with the operator on optimal scheduling around their busiest hours.
